
Michael Poon
Anaesthetist
Dr Michael Poon is a specialist anaesthetist who holds a high regard for patient safety, and in particular, safety in day surgeries.
His background in anaesthesia training comes from a variety of multitrauma, tertiary referral hospitals including St Vincent's Hospital, The Royal Women's Hospital at Randwick, St George Hospital and Liverpool Hospital.
He is currently appointed as a Visiting Medical Officer at Liverpool hospital, the leading major trauma hospital in the Sydney Southwest area, where he continues to develop and hone his interest in trauma neuroanaesthesia.
His other interests include the further development of ultrasonography use in clinical anaesthesia. His clinical practice currently encompasses anaesthesia for weight loss surgery, neurosurgery, ENT surgery, high risk obstetrics and orthopaedic trauma surgery. During the days when he's not dressed in scrubs, he could be found on the nearest ski field.
